Rain Snow or Shine
We will make every effort to remain open during inclement weather. In the case that the weather becomes hazardous and we need to close such as during a snow storm, we will contact WATS-AM Sayre, WTTC-FM Towanda, WHGL-FM Troy to announce center closing. You can also call the center at 265-0974 or the EDGE Fitness at 268-2946.
Attendance & Schedule
At the time of registration, we will confirm the days of the week and hours your child will be attending. Please allow as much advance notice as possible of any changes to your schedule so that we can schedule our staff and meals accordingly.
Holidays
We are closed on the following holidays if they fall on a Monday-Friday during the year. New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on the weekend, we will be open the Friday before and Monday after the holiday.
Child Care Regulations
Every state has its own regulations and standards for childcare. These regulations relate to the facility, health, safety, staff qualifications, nutrition, teacher/child ratios, and record keeping. Our center is licensed by the state of Pennsylvania. Centers are inspected regularly by state and city health, fire and licensing officials to ensure all regulations are being adhered to. Drop In Care
Drop in care is available. Please call ahead the morning care is needed to find out availability. Maximum of 3 drop in’s per month per child.
Child Care Payments
Weekly payments are due in advance for the following weeks care. Payments received the following Monday after 12pm will be considered past due and be subject to a $5.00 late fee. A payment box will be available for your convenience and receipts will be available upon request. 3 past due notices will result in termination of services.
We also accept payments to be made in advance for the full month’s care.
Your payment guarantees the child’s slot so payment is required regardless if they are absent because of illness, vacation, temporary layoffs, ect. If you did not bring your child in on a day they were scheduled to be at the center and brought him or her on an unscheduled day, you will be required to pay a drop in fee for the unscheduled day plus pay for the day your child was scheduled to attend but was absent.
Checks returned for insufficient funds will result in a $30 NSF Fee.
Termination / Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate services for; failure to make payments; disruptive behavior; or other actions deemed inappropriate. Upon termination, all outstanding balances must be paid.
Late Fee Policy
A $1/minute late fee will be charged for pick-up after closing due at the time of pickup. If you know you are going to be late, please contact the center so we can inform your child.
Children’s Belongings
Children are provided with a designated area to store their belongings. Parents are asked to bring in the following items for their child:

A crib sized sheet and a child size blanket for nap time. If your child is more comfortable sleeping with a child size pillow, you are more than welcome to bring one in, but it is not required. Please do not bring in a standard sized pillow.

A full set of seasonally appropriate clothing in case your child needs to be changed. Please bring an extra shirt, pants, socks, and underpants.
Naptime
Children are provided with a cot to use for naptime. Each child is required to rest ½ hr per day or more according to their individual needs. Naptime animals should be taken home and washed weekly.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up Policy
Each Day: Please ring doorbell when arriving. A staff member will greet you at the door. Upon arrival, parents and children are to go into the bathroom to wash their hands. Pick-up your child in their classroom, and collect their personal belongings and daily paperwork (if applicable). No one under 18 is allowed to pick up a child. Check Parent’s Mailbox daily. For safety purposes, children are only released to their parents or individuals on the EMERGENCY Contact form. If someone other than a parent will be picking up, please ensure their name is on the Emergency Form, and that they bring in a valid photo ID. It is required to let your child’s teacher or Director know if someone other than yourself will be picking up your child on a particular day. This is for safety of all children and will be enforced.
Legal Limitations: A copy of court order must be in child’s file regarding custody agreement if there are any limitations on who may NOT visit or pickup a child.
Illness Policy
We want to ensure the health and safety of the children in our care. In order to do this, the following illness Policy has been established. If a child exhibits any of the following, they will need to be picked up:

Temperature of 101degrees F

Vomiting or excessive diarrhea

Contagious conditions (e.g., chicken pox, lice, pink eye), rashes, or illness. NOTE: If a child is absent from the center with a communicable disease, a physician’s note must be obtained before the child can return. Parents will be notified of exposure to any and all communicable diseases.

Child Health Assessment
A health assessment by a physician must be completed within 30 days of your child’s start date, then as follows;
Preschoolers ever year on the child’s birth date
Emergency Procedures
In case of accidents, you will be called and medical attention will be given to your child. The parent’s insurance is the primary source of coverage

Medication
In order for our staff to administer medication, the guidelines below must be followed:
- Complete our medication log each day medicine is to be administered. Instructions on the log must match the directions on the container.
- Medication must include child’s full name, date prescription was filled and expiration date
- Name of health care provider
- Time medication is to be administered
- Dosage
- Instructions for storage and disposal.
Please ask director for our policy on over the counter medications.
Emergency Contact
Parents must provide current contact information where they can be reached in case of an emergency. At least 2 alternative contacts must be provided in case we cannot get in touch with you. This information must be updated immediately whenever there is a change.
Fire / Emergency Drills
We hold emergency drills on a regular basis to ensure the staff and children are prepared for handling an emergency. During these drills, the staff will help the children exit the center in an orderly manner and safely get to their assigned relocation area.
Meals
Daily healthy meals are provided to the children. A menu is posted in each classroom. If your child is allergic to anything, please make sure we are aware of the allergies. Children should not bring in candy or gum into the center.
Educational Trips
In order for children to participate in school sponsored trips; parents must sign a permission slip. Permission slips can be obtained from your child’s teacher or the Director. Parents are encouraged to attend field trips!
Dress Code
Please dress your child appropriately for the daily activities and weather. We go outside daily weather permitting. Sneakers are required. For your child’s safety sandals are not permitted or any other shoes that easily slip off causing your child to trip.
